How To Prepare For Rain When Planning Outdoor Parties?
There are a number of technical considerations that go into renting a tent. According to a 2014 survey from The Knot, the average wedding had 136 guests. Once you have a guestimate of the number of guests at your wedding, you can calculate the size of the tent you need. For instance, plan on 15 square feet per guest if you have seating at tables; eight-square feet per guest for chairs only; 25-square feet for your head table; and six-square feet for a cocktail area. Most importantly, you'll need to add two or three square feet for your dance area!

However, while you should feel free to fantasize about the perfect wedding day, you should also plan for some complications. The Knot also reports that the most popular wedding month is June (15% of all weddings), followed by October (14%). Here in the Northeast, there's a fair chance of rain in both months, so you'll want to make sure your party tent isn't set up in an area that collects runoff water.
